About Us
Whether you're new to High Plains haven't been involved much before, or a regular face at our meeting, you are alwasy welcome. The Parent Teacher Community Organization (PTCO) is a group of parents and caregivers working together to make our kids' school experience the best it can be.
We're a low-stress, inclusive, and friendly bunch—no cliques, no pressure. Come to a meeting when you can, volunteer a little or a lot, or just stay in the loop. Every bit of involvement helps, and we believe it truly takes a village! We support our school through events, fundraising, and community-building efforts, all aimed at enhancing the educational experience for our students.
Our mission is to foster a strong partnership between the school, home, and community by encouraging parental engagement and improving High Plains School’s environment through volunteer work and financial contributions.
We'd love to have you join us!

Annual PTCO Events at High Plains School
Each year, the PTCO (Parent Teacher Community Organization) hosts a series of fun and meaningful events to support our students, families, and community. While details may vary slightly year to year, here are some of the key events you can look forward to:

Calling All Kindergarten Parents!
Tears and Cheers
Sending your kindergartener off to school can be an emotional moment—for kids and parents alike!
PTCO invites new kindergarten parents to join us for a light breakfast, coffee, and community connection on the first day of school. Whether you're drying your eyes or cheering the milestone, it's a great way to meet other families and feel supported as you embark on this exciting new chapter.
BISON STAMPEDE
All School Fundraiser
Our only all-school fundraiser of the year, promoting school spirit, fitness, and fun! Held each September, the Bison Stampede is a lively event where students run, walk, skip, or dance around the school track to music and cheers from family and friends. Students collect pledges ahead of time and earn prizes based on donations raised. All proceeds directly support High Plains School programs and initiatives.

Monthly Spirit Nights
Dine out and give back to High Plains! Each month, PTCO partners with a local restaurant to host a Spirit Night. Families can enjoy a night off from cooking while a portion of the evening’s proceeds are donated back to High Plains School. It’s an easy and delicious way to support our community.
Trunk or Treat =
A spooktacular Halloween event for the whole family! Families decorate their car trunks, dress up in costumes, and hand out candy to High Plains students and community children. Kids can also participate in a fun costume contest! This safe, festive evening is a Halloween favorite for all ages.

Bingo For Books
Family fun with a literary twist! Join us for an exciting night of Bingo, where winners receive FREE books—often awarded as gift cards to Barnes & Noble. This event encourages reading and family time, all wrapped up in a classic game everyone loves.
Summer Kick Off
Celebrate the start of summer with friends and fun!
As the school year ends, and summer break approaches, PTCO hosts a Summer Kick-Off event featuring music, activities, and FREE Kona Ice for all students. It's the perfect way to kick off summer break with the High Plains community.
